Elizabeth Holmes' X account is posting again — but is it really her?

Somebody claiming to be Elizabeth Holmes, the former Theranos CEO, “America’s first self-made female billionaire,” and convicted fraudster is currently tweeting, replying, and occasionally trolling on X. But is it really her? The short answer is likely no. After all, Holmes is barely two years years into a nine-year prison sentence for fraud carried out during her time as CEO of the now-defunct blood testing company. The longer answer, however, is maybe. While federal prisons don’t allow inmates access to social media (Holmes is being held at FCP Bryan in Bryan, Texas), the posts could, in theory, be dictated by Holmes to a loved one, PR representative, or someone else who has assumed control of her account. Of course, there’s also a third option: her account could have been hacked. However, it’s unclear what the motivation would be given that no scam links, memecoins, or ads have been shared . Regardless, whoever’s taken over the account h...

Web3 has permanently changed how marketing works

Image
The world of marketing undergoes a transformative shift as Web3 emerges, bringing decentralized ecosystems and community-driven strategies to the forefront. My journey into Web3 marketing officially began when I joined ConsenSys as chief marketing officer in 2016, where I built the first Web3 marketing team and helped bring Ethereum as well as the ConsenSys brand and many early Ethereum-based tools and applications to market. During my time at ConsenSys, our marketing team played a pivotal role in shaping the narrative around blockchain and crypto adoption globally, engaging enterprises, governments, developers and end users. I then founded Serotonin — a Web3 native marketing and product studio — to multiply the impact of the Web3 marketing best practices we had developed by expanding beyond the ConsenSys ecosystem. I recently had the chance to be a part of Cointelegraph’s Accelerator program as a mentor on Web3 marketing. My goal in speaking with the startups in the accelerator, as w...

Over 30% TikTok videos on crypto investments are misleading: Research

TikTok videos sporting popular crypto-related hashtags — such as crypto, cryptok, cryptoadvice, cryptocurrency, cryptotrading and cryptoinvesting — have cumulatively churned over 6 billion views. More than 1 out of 3 influencers on TikTok, the go-to social media platform for the young generation, have been found to post misleading videos about Bitcoin (BTC) and cryptocurrency investments in a recent study.  TikTok has been widely adopted as a video-based alternative to Google searches. However, some influencers have been found to share unvetted misinformation on the social media platform about crypto investments, often trying to convince unwary viewers to put their (or their parents) hard-earned money into loss-making cryptocurrencies. TikTok influencers use the hashtag ‘#cryptok’ while posting crypto-related content. An analysis of over 1,161 such TikTok videos — conducted by dappGambl — revealed that over one in three videos on crypto TikToks were misleading. The research also found...

Logan Paul has deleted his response video aimed at Coffeezilla and has apologized in a surprise u-turn. YouTuber Logan Paul has deleted a video in which he threatened to sue internet detective Stephen "Coffeezilla" Findeisen over a three-part series that painted Paul’s CryptoZoo project as a "scam." According to Coffezilla in a Jan. 6 Twitter post, Paul has promised to drop his threats of filing a defamation lawsuit over the videos.  Logan called me. He said he’s deleting the two responses, and is dropping the lawsuit threats. I believe he’s making a 3rd response, which I’ll be delaying my video to include. Hopefully this time he takes accountability and refunds the victims of CryptoZoo. That’s what matters. https://t.co/ElKX2d9mY0 — Coffeezilla (@coffeebreak_YT) January 7, 2023 Sharing a screenshot from the CryptoZoo Discord server, Findeisen also showed a message from Paul to user confirming he deleted his initial response to Coffeezilla’s video series and ap...

Cardano Price Prediction – Can ADA Become the Biggest Coin?

Image
Cardano continues to dominate headlines due to upgrades on its blockchain or its developer’s social media antics. However, can its native token, ADA, become the most valuable in the market?  ADA Price Action With the crypto market experiencing a downturn, ADA has plunged. At press time, ADA trades at $0.36, indicating a downtrend of 1.27% in the past 24 hours. This price drop aligns with the broader market, which has also lost 0.6% of its value in the same period. With its bear run, ADA only trades above its 10-day moving average (MA) and 20-day MA. The crypto asset currently trades below all other MA indicators, especially those that denote long-term interest.  ADA displays a negative moving average convergence divergence (MACD), indicating a sell signal. However, the digital asset’s relative strength index (RSI) of 36.31 shows it is approaching the underbought region.  Buy ADA on eToro Possible FTX Listing Pumps ADA  The most signi...
