Uniswap Labs Says New Layer-1 Network Unichain To Launch in ‘Early 2025’

The team behind the largest decentralized crypto exchange (DEX) by trading volume is confirming the launch of its highly-anticipated layer-1 blockchain Unichain. In a new blog post, Uniswap Labs says that, after the successful public testnet phase of the Unichain launch, the launch of a public mainnet is the next step. The firm says Unichain will begin its transition to mainnet on January 6, 2025. “The next major milestone focuses on decentralization, which is core to Unichain. Mainnet will go live with Permissionless Fault Proofs on day one, allowing anyone to verify the chain’s activity. This process will begin on January 6, 2025, when Unichain Sepolia will undergo planned maintenance to enable Permissionless Fault Proofs. Once the new system’s safety and stability are validated, mainnet will be open for everyone! CHART: It's been 262 days since Solana's last major outage

It has been 262 days days — over 37 weeks or more than 6,000 hours — since Solana last suffered a major outage. According to the network’s own incident history tracker, the last major outage occurred on February 6 this year and lasted five hours. No reason was given at the time, however, the tracker noted that the problem was apparently resolved after “a successful upgrade to v1.17.20 and a restart of the cluster by validator operators.” As a result of the disruption, Solana’s  SOL token fell 2% to $94 . TIA token, the native asset of the modular blockchain network Celestia, has been the top trending token on several social media and crypto platforms. The recent boost in its popularity coincides with Celestia‘s launch of its mainnet beta on Oct. 31, heralding the beginning of the modular blockchain era. According to CoinMarketCap data, the token started trading on the same day. Coinbase's Base launches mainnet for builders, will onboard users in August

Base’s layer-2 mainnet has launched, allowing builders to deploy contracts, while users will be welcomed to the network in August. Coinbase’s Base mainnet is now “open for builders,” according to a July 13 blog post from the network’s development team. The team is opening the network to builders ahead of its public launch to allow more time  for user onboarding. Base also announced that the public launch of the network will occur in August.
