Coinbase CEO Says He’s Bullish On The CLARITY Act After Discussions In DC

Image
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong says that the next major crypto bill, the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act of 2025, also called the CLARITY Act, is a “freight train leaving the station,” adding that this is the most bullish he has ever been on the bill. In a video posted to X, the CEO said that there is a good chance that the bill will pass. This is after he attended discussions with lawmakers “on both sides of the aisle,” and added that the bill has bipartisan support.  “The Senate is strongly supportive of getting this done; the members I met with on both sides of the aisle are ready to get this legislation passed,”  Armstrong said in the video. Gate.io to compensate users for outage losses — but there's a catch

Gate.io to compensate users for outage losses — but there’s a catch Gate.io forced a surprise service outage on its users today. The giant crypto exchange, which claims to have processed over $4 billion in spot plus $17 billion in derivative volume over the last 24 hours despite the outage, partially apologized for the shutdown and promised to compensate users in the most confusing way possible. The announcement prompted an AMA to “see exactly how payouts work.” Customers flooded into the space...

VanEck chief executive Jan van Eck is outlining what he thinks will be the biggest milestone for the crypto sector in 2025. While speaking with Anthony Pompliano at Bitcoin Investor Week, Van Eck argues that stablecoins are the most interesting part of the digital asset world. The CEO praises the stablecoin legislation working its way through the Senate, but he also says he’s worried US banking regulators will try to kill the bill or “say you have to be a bank to issue a stablecoin.” Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN) introduced the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act in February. The legislation, which aims to establish regulatory clarity for stablecoins, passed out of the Senate Banking Committee earlier this month. Van Eck also thinks there’s a “big opportunity” with tokenization. “If Hester Peirce and the SEC do what they say they’re going to do… I don’t think we ...
